The Web 2.0 Machine is Us/ing Us - A.I.

Found this whacked YouTube video on one of my business partners website, the new Pop Labs. It is suprpising is that there are still so many people who do not understand blogs. How are they ever going to get the rest? Sounds like opportunity! Pop Labs is now signing agency affiliates (must have a marketing business or high traffic partner). Tell them you heard about them from Marketing Dynamics, at The MarketingVortex blog or e-mail us at Info@MarketingDynamics.org and we can introduce you to the Machine. Get caught up in The VORTEX!

It's A YouTube World, Use it to Your Advantage

YouTube has so many uses from a marketing perspective. In essence, one can create their own media network. I shot this video with my friend Steve Levine, publisher of Real Estate Executive magazine that only goes out to the top 3,100 Realtors(r) in the Houston market. Many of Mr. Levine's clients want to be interviewed now.

Mr. Levine was gracious enough to interview my client Noel Halgreen, President of Sona Medspa Houston (www.sonahouston.com) for Mr. Levine's blog (www.stevelevinemedia.com). Be sure to read the terms and conditions of YouTube to tailor its use with your marketing objectives. Go to "Category FIVE" to see other videos. Get caught up in the VORTEX!

Marketing in the Movies, the Red Carpet Please

Marketers should explore all avenues when it comes to marketing their product or service. One innovative way is movies. Yes movies. Your city probably has an independent film association that you can build a relationship with. As part of the review, check out the writer, the director, the script, and review the business and marketing plan to see how your product is going to be positioned. Keep in mind, family movies are doing better at the box office, so look for rated G or PG films. You don't want a problem with how your product or service is perceived in the market. With the success of family movies, you will also expand your visibility. It doesn't hurt to have your product in several movies either - keep track of the movie releases.

If you are lucky, you can find an emerging script writer and have your product or service written into the movie. For a nominal contribution, you could gain market presence when the movie becomes a success. You could even sell your product from the movie website while it is in production or being seen in theatres.

If you are a movie maker, then the same approach holds true for getting advertising dollars and negotiated support for your movie. You want as many people helping to market your movie when it is ready for distribution and most firms would be happy to do that, if you ask them. Rememb
er to think big and go after the big names to support your movie. See you at the movies!

The Starbucks Experience: Use All Five Senses When Marketing

It is a fun brave new world! I did my first Podcast yesterday from Starbucks, Galleria Houston. You can listen below.

Now, I have been interviewed on the radio and those interviews have been podcasted before, but this was my first one by myself. I got to write it, think of where I wanted to do it, and broadcast from a cool location wirelessly. When I ordered my "Venti Carmel Machiato" well- stirred, I was holding their new book "The Starbucks Expreience: 5 Principles for Turning Ordinary into Extraordinary", which I picked up from Border's book store a month ago. The barrista was curious about the book and I told her I was anxious to read it and that I would be doing a Podcast from the location (so technically, I got permission to do it). Anyway, I think it came out pretty good. Tell me what you think?

In the Eye of the Storm and Storm Chasing

I advise marketers and business professionals to balance their lives. It is easy to get so consumed with business opportunities and miss your life. I am all about the passion of the pursuit, but learned what matters most is my family and friends. I have been blessed to be married to my wife, Tina, of 19 years and to be the father of two beautiful young girls Kayla (6) and Kenna (3). My wife and I dated for 7 years before we got married and enjoyed our adventure for 13 more years after we got married. It has been a wonderful journey and kids add greatly to that dynamic.

Now, we are refocusing on our love for each other (I know its mushy). I have been very intentional about leveraging all of my marketing activities, but I am learning very quickly that I cannot let that interfere with my personal goals of family, personal development, and physical fitnesss. Areas that will always require maintainence. Now, I write this from experience. I once got up caught in the success of one my key clients, making him extreme income and growing his company. I started to overlook everything that was important to me. Fortunately, I wised up and my wife was willing to forgive me for my error in judgment. I wrote this as a caution, when you are chasing the storm, it is better to be in the eye storm - safe from its ravages! Get caught up in the VORTEX, but stay in the center of the storm. Happy marketing!
